Hello from Cape Town. It’s a warm, windy day and our tuberculosis meeting is going well. Today we are focused on the implementation of F-A-S-T in South Africa and Swaziland, to reduce nosocomial transmission of TB.
The big news here is the weather. There were high winds yesterday and the Cape Town Cycle Tour was cancelled. There were also raging fires in informal settlements and 9 people were killed. And, across the country in Durban, there were huge waves closing the beaches. I had hoped to go up Table Mountain, but the cable car is closed because of the high winds. Perhaps we’ll find time to hike up, if it’s safe.
