Turning Negative Thinkers Into Positive Ones

In the New York Times several days ago, Jane Brody wrote an essay about the work of Barbara Fredrickson, a psychologist at the University of North Carolina, has done on fostering positive emotions, in particular her theory that accumulating “micro-moments of positivity,” can, over time, result in greater overall well-being.

I agree with this philosophy. In particular, I suggest to my patients that they spend time in nature. Singing, or playing a musical instrument, also bring joy.
