During my junior year of high school in Kentucky, I joined the cross country and track teams. But in the following decades, I only ran intermittently. Recently, however, I’ve been increasing my miles, and last weekend successfully completed the Surftown Half-Marathon in Rhode Island, my first.
Now, there’s another race coming up. On my birthday, October 28, I will be participating in the Shatterproof Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Run/Walk in Boston at 8 am. I’m raising money for Shatterproof so they can end the devastation the disease of addiction causes families. Every dollar I raise goes directly to Shatterproof’s advocacy efforts, expands access to treatment and recovery programs, and helps to end the stigma of addiction.
I hope you might consider donating.
