Kelly Servick: Can bacteria-slaying viruses defeat antibiotic-resistant infections?

In the fight against antibiotic-resistant infections, an old method based on bacteria-slaying viruses called phages has been rarely used. But my mentors at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Drs. Chip Schooley and Steffanie Strathdee, recently used phages to knock out a deadly infection.
