A vicious cycle: poverty, lack of education, violence, addiction, mental illness

the crisis we are facing in boston (and around the united states and world) is what i describe as a “vicious cycle: poverty, lack of education, violence, addiction, mental illness.” this has been described by many people, but i’m not sure if anyone has used this framework.

take a look at the two graphics below and you’ll see what i mean.

so how do we turn the “Vicious Cycle: Poverty, lack of education, violence, addiction, mental illness” into a “Virtuous Cycle: Financial stability, high quality education, non-violence, non use of substances, and mental health?”

It requires commitment to transformational change. And fixing capitalism. See the work of Professor Michael Porter to learn more.

What do you think?
