social connectedness and happiness

“smile, and the whole world smiles with you.”

social connectedness is one of the most important things we can do to feel better and be more positive. as we enter another monday wtih all the stressors and burnout people face, we simply must improve social connectedness. we need to get to know our neighbors and have dinner with them. we need to disconnect from cell phones and laptops, and spend time with loved ones outdoors, harvesting, cooking, and eating, without intrusive technology.

so to achieve “spontaneous happiness,” to quote dr. andrew weil, we must focus on social connectedness and time outdoors. we must learn how to farm/garden, sing and play music, dance, and make art. these are fundamental parts of human experience that many folks have lost in our modern culture.

let me know what you think.

happy monday.

best regards,

dr phil lederer
