a fitful first step

yet another great article by felice freyer, about the open access clinic at sstar, fall river massachusetts.

sstar health center clinics seek to seize the moment when a person wants addiction help.

‘it’s like i have a split personality. i tell myself i want to get clean. i tell myself i want to get high.’ – adam carreira said [emphasis mine].

and yet, we continue with the language of blame which is self-internalized.

people are not clean or dirty depending on if they use drugs or not. people are people, and words have power, the power to harm and even kill.

what do you think? please leave a reply below.

in other news, i’m continuing my quest to get to 500 miles against suicide, 500 miles against fear.
