Ahimsa (a.k.a. nonviolence) means ‘not to injure’ and refers to a key virtue in Christianity, Jainism, Hinduism, etc. Ahimsa applies to all living beings, including animals. Regarding nonviolence, my main interests are the benefits of a vegeterian diet and the abolition of all weapons, starting with nuclear weapons. World leaders need to reject the dangerous notion that nuclear weapons enhance national security. Instead, they should base their policies on the understanding that these weapons are the greatest threat to our survival.
